Deborah Molodofsky

Deborah Molodofsky is the Founder and Director of the Amadeus Conservatory of Music & Theater. Educated in both music and literature, she received a Bachelors of Music, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan School of Music where she studied with Paul Makanowitsky, the assistant of Ivan Galamian. She received a Masters of Arts in English Magna Cum Laude plus PhD (ABD) from Wayne State University, where she double majored in music and English studying with Mischa Mischakoff. Other notable teachers include Piotr Milewski, assistant to Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School. She has also studied chamber music at the Mozarteum in Salzburg.

Interested in the intersections between music and literature, she pursued doctoral studies writing a dissertation on symphonic and atonal form in The Magic Mountain and Dr. Faustus by Thomas Mann and jazz in the USA trilogy by John Dos Passos.

As she was finishing the dissertation she was invited to join the first violin section of the Mexico City Philharmonic, with which she performed throughout the United States and Mexico. She has concertized in France, Italy and Austria and has recorded with Decca. She has been a member of the Joachim Trio, The Debussy Quartet, Toledo Symphony, Toledo Symphony String Quartet, Michigan Opera Theater, Michigan Chamber Orchestra, Florida West Coast Symphony, Meadow Brook Music Festival, Meadow Mount, The International Summer Academy Orchestra and has participated in the Aspen Music Festival.

 

Alexander Meshibovsky

Alexander Meshibovsky received his Masters of Music from Kharkov Conservatory and the Doctor of Music from the Gnessin Institute, Moscow. He has studied with Jascha Heifetz at the University of Southern California, Adolph Lestshinsky, a student of Karl Flesh, and Ilya Dobrshinetz, a student of Leopold Auer.

He has been Adjunct Professor of violin at Columbia University Teachers College and Lehman College- CUNY, Associate Professor of violin at Suny Purchase, West Virginia University and East Tennessee State University, Assistant Professor at Musikhochschule in Hannover, German and at Innsbruck Conservatorium, and Instructor of Violin and Viola at Westchester Conservatory of Music.

He has concertized in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Belgium, Norway, Italy, Spain and the U.S. He has recorded and given live broadcast performances for West German Radio, North German Radio, Austrian Radio and Television, and American Public Television. He has performed as soloist with the Hamburg Philharmonic, Berlin Radio Orchestra, North German Radio Orchestra, NDR Orchestra and Queens Symphony.  He is currently on the faculty of Lehman College and the Amadeus Conservatory of Music.

 

Chris Chung

Chi-Jen (Christopher) Chung received his certification in music education from the National Taiwan Normal University. He received a Bachelors of Music and a Masters of Music from SUNY, Purchase College, where he studied under master cellist, Peter Wiley, of the Guarneri Quartet.

He was a recipient of the Bridget and Peter Flanigan Scholarship, has recorded for Bamboo Trail Records, and has won first prize at the National Taiwan Music Competition and the Kaohsiung City Music Competition. In addition, he has wide professional experience including conducting symphonic orchestras, chamber performances and studio recordings which include the Chinese Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, the International Chamber Orchestra, and Yin-Qi Chamber Orchestra among others.

He has held teaching positions at Guang-Ren High School, Xi-Men Elementary School and Guan-Du Christian College in Taiwan. In 2003, Chris served as Music Director and featured cellist for the world premier of A Streetcar Named Desire at the Hua-Sun Cultural Center in Taipei, Taiwan.

 

Boris Deviatov

Boris Deviatov earned his Master’s Degree and Doctorate of Music from the Lvov State Conservatory, Ukraine. As a member of the Leontovych String Quartet, one of the leading string quartets from the former Soviet Union, Mr. Deviatov has appeared in the major concert halls of North America, South America and Europe. He also participated in numerous international festivals, including Mostly Mozart, Music Mountain, and the Newport Music Festival.

His chamber music performances include collaborations with such distinguished artists as Yuri Bashmet, Ruggiero Ricci, Ruth Laredo, Vladimir Spivakov, and Samuel Sanders. Mr. Deviatov is the winner of several competitions, both as a violist and conductor, the most notable being first prize in the All Soviet Union Viola Competition. He has concertized throughout the Soviet Union and Europe as a music director, conductor and soloist of the Ivano-Frankovsk Chamber Orchestra.

Here in the United States, he performs as a member of the Lumina String Quartet and the New York Chamber Symphony. He is a principal violist of the Bachanalia Chamber Orchestra and the String Orchestra of New York City. Mr. Deviatov has recorded for Greystone Records, Koch International Classics, The Musical Heritage Society, and Melodia (USSR).

 

Isaac Raz
Isaac RazPiano/Jazz Piano, Voice, Guitar, Drums, Musical Theatre, Electronic Composition

Isaac Raz attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston where he received his Bachelor of Music degree and the Duke Ellington Award for musical excellence. In 1993, he composed the musical score for the Emmy Award winning documentary film “Pioneer Women.” In 2000, Isaac worked with renowned jazz record producer Teo Macero, playing keyboards and programming for his “Miles Davis Tribute” album. His arranging skills have been utilized on many pop music recordings as well as advertising jingles.
His jazz and pop groups have played throughout the New York area and abroad featuring his own compositions as well as popular music of all styles. He runs his own recording studio in Manhattan. He teaches piano, voice, guitar, bass, percussion and composition. He directs the Amadeus Summer Performing Arts Day Camp in Chappaqua, New York.

 

Alan Eicher
Alan EicherPiano

Alan attended Berklee College of Music on scholarship studying jazz composition and piano performance. His education includes studies with Hal Crook and Charles Banacos in jazz theory and improvisation and private classical studies with Bach specialist Dr. Peter Gach.

Alan received his B.S. in music from Lehman College studying composition and orchestration with John Corigliano. He has performed in a diverse variety of settings including working as a rehearsal pianist for Steven Sondhiem and he has performed and/or recorded with the Charles McPherson Quartet, the Lou Donaldson Quartet, Dr. Lyn Christie Trio, The Nelson Riddle Orchestra, comedian Steve Allen, The Drifters, The Five Satins, Jim Cammack, Kim Plainfield, Buddy Williams, Kenwood Dennard, Emedin Rivera, Bill Bickford, Lou Volpe, Wayne Johnson, Hank Easton and others.

He currently performs as a leader and sideman in several groups throughout the New York area.

 

Alyssa Reit
Alyssa ReitHarp

Alyssa Reit has worked as an independent performer, composer and arranger in the New York area for over 30 years. She completed her Bachelors and Master’s degrees at the Juilliard School as a student of Marcel Grandjany. Her composition teachers include Andrew Thomas, Jacob Druckman, and Richard Einhorn. She is on the harp faculty at the Amadeus Conservatory of Music.

 

 

Alice Miller

 Alice F. Miller is a musician and educator with a broad range of experience. She is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, and was a tenured member of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra for nine seasons. She has also played with the London, Ontario Canada Symphony as Principal Flute, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra including a national tour as Principal Flute, the New York Philharmonic, the American Symphony, the Tanglewood Festival and the Spoleto, Italy Festival of Two Worlds. She is the founding member of the New Cambridge Trio (flute, piano and string bass) currently performing in the New York area.

Ms. Miller is also the recipient of many awards including an Associate Instructorship at Indiana University and a Paul Sicular Fellowship to Tanglewood, and was a winner of the New York Flute Club Competition, the Trinity Church Competition, and the Bronx Museum Solo Competition.
